What's a coaching session with Angela like?Depending on which package you choose, each session is typically 60 or 90 minutes and is conducted by phone, FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, or in person - at Angela's office or other convenient location. We start with the "Discovery & Design" session that's included with each package that help us both identify priorities and desired outcomes. Each session focuses on getting you to your goals and working through obstacles that get in the way. Based on each session, follow-up exercises are sent to deepen the learning and awareness, and keep the forward momentum. The interaction is very open, comfortable, in-the-moment, and fits the pace and style that's most effective for you.

How many sessions are scheduled each month?Just as there are some who benefit most from the routine and structure of weekly accountability of a personal trainer, the same principle applies here. No matter which package clients choose, each one comes with 3 to 4 sessions per month, with a minimum commitment of 3 months. Each package comes with a certain number of 15 minute check-ins between scheduled sessions, depending on which package you choose.

How long does the process take? The length depends on the client and the objectives they define at the beginning. Some clients come to coaching with a specific goal that can be addressed in a few sessions; some come with multiple goals that are usually connected to one another. Within 3 to 6 sessions, clients generally feel a strong sense of direction and momentum. Some clients continue on their own from there with only occasional 'check-ins', while others find it helpful to stay engaged with the process, and we move on to their next goal.

What results can I expect?Confidence, clarity, focus, deeper awareness, motivation, and a feeling of freedom that comes from knowing you are able to clearly identify what you want for your life, and make decisions with confidence. You can also expect to experience fear and doubt; and uncertainty because this process is challenging and will push you out of your comfort zone, which is a measure of success. But remember that a good part of coaching takes place between the sessions in the form of executing the strategies and systems and processes we’ve created that help you maximize the time spent in sessions, and ultimately create lasting change.

What's the difference between coaching and therapy?Transformational Coaching is about the ‘Now’, and how to achieve future-oriented goals by dealing with how you think and see yourself. Therapy tends to focus on identifying and understanding past experiences that effect the way you’re showing up in the world. Since there are many forms of therapy and types of coaching, the lines between the two modalities can get blurred. Coaching that’s hitting the spot can often feel therapeutic! There are also many therapists who are certified coaches, and many coaches with therapy backgrounds and training. Angela has an Organizational Development and Clinical Psychology background and training.

What are important factors when choosing a coach? The coaches background, experience, and style of coaching is key. In addition to that, being able to develop strong rapport and a meaningful connection with you should also be important. You have to feel comfortable and at ease knowing that your coach hears and understands you.

How do I know if coaching is for me?Book a one time 90 minute session to see if coaching is right for you, or schedule a "Discovery & design" session to help you gain clarity on your next steps and what you hope to achieve. Coaching is most effective when there is a deep desire and urgency for, as well as commitment to change. When compromise, delay, and procrastination are no longer options, then coaching is for you.
